At Walt's, all of our bicycles are sold fully assembled. Our assembly manager, Jose Oliva, has 16 years of experience in the bicycle business. He is responsible for maintaining the high level of quality that Walt's customers expect.

Walt's receives bicycles from the manufacturer in a partially assembled condition. The bikes are carefully unpacked and inspected. The cardboard shipping cartons are recycled. The assembly process consists of installation and adjustment of the saddle, handlebars and controls, pedals, wheels, brakes, and gearing system. The hubs, headset, and bottom bracket bearings are checked. All fittings are checked for proper tightness and the final assembly is complete. Our average assembly time per bike is 1.5-2 hours. The final assembly is checked by our assembly manager.

When the bicycle is sold, it undergoes a checkout inspection by our service mechanics. We follow this procedure on all bikes, from the 12" children's sidewalk bikes to our high-tech road and off-road racing bikes.We recognize our responsibility to provide safe and properly assembled bikes.

Walt's is a full service repair store. We have many parts on hand to fix most any bike that comes our way and the best group of mechanics. We will also tune up and repair all makes of bikes and most exercisers.

Walt's recommends a complete tune-up and safety check after 250 miles. This service is included in the purchase price of your bicycle. We will make every effort to provide next day service. Appointments are also available. Any accessories purchased at this time will be installed free of labor charge.

Our tune-up service consists of the following:

• Inspect, safety check, and tighten all components and fittings to manufacturer's specifications.
• Inspect and adjust gearing and braking systems.
• Inspect and adjust headset, hubs, and bottom bracket bearings.
• True wheels and check spoke tension.
• Lubricate according to manufacturer's specifications.

Walt's will perform minor service work on your bicycle as needed for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This consists of inspecting and tightening all components and fittings on your bicycle. Brakes and gears will be adjusted and lubricated as needed. Wheels are trued on the bike. Your bicycle is completely checked for safe operation.

We realize that some bikes will see more severe use. As a result, a more comprehensive tune-up or service may be required to ensure safe operation of your bicycle. In this case, repairs are charged at our regular shop rates.

Flats, damage due to accident or abuse, non-warranty replacement parts and installation labor are charged at our regular shop rates.
