St. Joseph's Hill Open Space Preserve

Brief Description
The St. Joseph's Hill Open Space Preserve provides a great destination for mountain bikers to quickly escape the urban society of the Santa Clara Valley and ride in the congestion-free open space of St. Joseph's Hill. The mostly steep trail network brings on a good challenge for intermediate riders while supplying rewarding views of the south bay as well as Lexington Reservoir.

Length: The entire trail network consists of about 6 miles of mostly hilly terrain.
Hours: Dawn to Dusk
Trail Conditions: The entire trail network is dirt. The trails can be saturated after periods of rain. Most of the trails are two-way.
Cost: Free

Location

The St. Joseph's Hill Open Space Preserve is located in the foothills between downtown Los Gatos and Lexington Reservoir. Preserve access is available at Jones Road just minutes from Main Street Los Gatos as well at Lexington Reservoir on the southern side of the preserve.

Things To Consider
  • The trail network is very steep is some places and is recommended for mountain bike riders with intermediate riding experience.
  • As with all offroad cycling, always wear safety gear and make sure your bike is in proper working order.
